Disclosures

Short and in plain language, because a disclosure that needs decoding is not one. This is everything about how this site operates that could bear on what you see here.

  1. What this site is
    • Ikigai Labs runs this site as a curated gallery for on-chain art. We take no commission on anybody else's work and hold no wallet connection. When a page links out to buy a work, it hands you to OpenSea: what happens there is between you and them.
    • We have explored what it would take to sell prints of our own work one day, and written the answer down at the print room. That is as far as it has gone. Nothing on this site is for sale by us today, no shop exists, and it may stay that way. If it ever changes, that page carries prices and this line gets rewritten before either happens. Nothing about the curated collections changes either way: other people's work is hung to be looked at, not sold here.
  2. We own some of what we hang
    • The people behind this gallery collect the kind of art it shows, and may hold works from collections that hang here. Curation reflects taste, and our taste is not financially neutral. No collection is included because we hold it, but you should read every room knowing we might.
  3. We made some of what we hang
    • Four collections in the Conceptual room are ours: SAVE AS, 生涯 Genesis, the Eliza Edition and IKIGAI LABS 生. Every one of them opens its curator's note with the word Ours, so you never learn it from this page after the fact. We hang them for the same reason as everything else, and you are entitled to discount them for the reason you would expect.
  4. We hold a position in one of the companies we describe
    • We are seed investors in Fairmint, the cap-table company described at /fairmint, and we intend to keep our own cap table there. That page opens with the same sentence, in a yellow box, before it says anything good about them. No other partner named on this site is one we hold a stake in; if that changes, it gets a line here and a box there, in that order.
  5. Nobody pays to hang here
    • No artist, collection, or marketplace has paid for inclusion or placement. If that ever changes, the placement will say so on its face, not in a footnote.
  6. Prices are observations, not advice
    • Where the site quotes a price (the floor listings on the homepage, for instance), it reports what was listed at the moment we read it, and says when that was. It is not financial, investment, or legal advice, and a listing can be withdrawn or bought at any moment. Do your own research.
  7. Who we work with
    • Collection data and images come from OpenSea's API and Ethereum mainnet. The Studio pages describe tools and partners we actually use: Transient Labs for artist contracts, MetaSill for frames, WhiteWall for prints. The small print at the foot of every page adds the two that are about the company rather than the work: Fairmint for the cap table, and the entity question behind both. None of them pay us to be mentioned, and the one we have money in says so on its own face.
  8. Privacy
    • We collect as little as a read-only site needs. What we do collect, and why, is in the privacy policy.
