Why we chose this

Nine 1/1s on the artist's own Manifold contract, each carrying North's account of how the picture was built: heels cut in half and pressed into desert asphalt, a car window someone smashed and he kept, a wrecked bus-stop advertisement shot as a celebration. He is direct about having come up shooting for social-media personalities, and dates his turn away from it to a single frame in 2018. The writing carries as much as the images do.
