Why we chose this

Brynn Alise photographed Yellowstone's thermal pools from the air over four years and cut more than a thousand frames down to ten. From that height the water stops being a landscape and becomes colour, the orange bacteria and the blue depth, and she notes that one of them reads as a tropical island until you are told what it is.
