Why we chose this

Ten thousand portraits at 24×24 pixels, given away free in June 2017, before OpenSea, before "web3" was a word anyone used. The crude resolution is the constraint: every trait has to survive a grid that small. Everything after it inherited the format, and nothing since has improved on it. This is where the medium starts.
