Why we chose this

Sixty-one 1/1s, each carrying a poem and then a plain paragraph saying what the poem is about: climate grief, a childhood split between Japan and New Mexico, synaesthesia, the deaths Armijo sees every week working in a hospital. The photographs are staged self-portraits in landscape and would read as decorative without the text underneath, which is presumably why he put it there. The most nakedly autobiographical work in this room.
