Why we chose this

Davis published six words about it: points of change and new opportunities. What that produces is bands of gradient laid across black at an angle, and the angle is the entire event. Three other Davis projects hang in this room and they share the discipline: a small vocabulary, no ornament, and nothing said in words that the picture can say instead.
