Why we chose this

Brush strokes at low opacity, layered over each other in a loop until the colour reaches equilibrium, then quantised and dithered back into visible pixels. Galo calls it pixel overpainting and describes the result as colour field painting that could not exist off a screen. The dither is the point: the picture is built to admit where it lives.
