Why we chose this

Built from research into the analogue video synthesizers of the sixties and seventies: machines that produced complex shapes from manipulated voltage alone, with no camera and no input. De Mai reproduces the procedural logic rather than the look, which is the harder and more respectful choice. The clearest line in this room back to art made before the computer.
